Calling It An End When Many See It As A New Beginning

I came across a very interesting take on the future of browsers. Tara Hunt the author believes that browsers soon will be dead, that is we won’t be needing them in future. It’s a really strange observation for the following reason.

  • For most people browser is the internet. This is the reason why so many are still stuck with IE as their main browser.
  • Most of the services are going web based and a coherence with browsing standard is required. e.g. AOL is completelt changing it’s model and now using web and apps as a service.
  • Most of the high end utility tools like web editor etc are becoming web based.
  • Chris Messina, Ms. Hunt’s partner was involved with Flock project which aimed to change the way browsers behaved.

Well she has some reasons which are aptfully answered here, but I sincerely disagree with the observation and I reckon they are a tad immature.
